I realized this, when I went to search for a birthday gift
two days ago. Usually it took me less than an hour to get a birthday gift, but
surprisingly, it took me almost half a day to choose for her and eventually, I
came back with an empty hand.
I was pretty confused during that time. All the shops that I
entered, didn't give me a feeling that it would be a memorable birthday gift,
instead everything looked normal. Well, I know she will appreciate
everything that I give her, but I want her to have a different kind of birthday
gift and also a special one where she will remember for her whole life.
But then, I'm also thinking “What is that something special
that I should give her?” That’s also another question that I need to figure out
the answer.
I remembered, when I went to accompany one of my family
member to shop for a gift, she said this to me “It’s not easy to choose a gift.
You need to give them something they will remember for their whole life.”
I didn't think much during that time, because for me a gift
is just a gift. It’s a gesture of showing kindness, and honestly – during that
time, I don’t want people to remember what I give them. But then, now I know it
is actually more than that, so much more than that. It’s not about making
people remember the gift for their whole life, but it’s also about the feeling.
You want that particular person to remember the special feeling
when they receive that gift, and every time they look at that gift, they will
remember the feeling.
Well, I guess I should do more research on what to give her.
I have one more month to decide what I should give to her.
