A Young Man and A Doctor

Here's a story of a young man and a doctor.

One fine afternoon, a young man went to a doctor with his parents for a frequent check up on his health.

He is quite weak and he doesn't mind going to a doctor. Especially when this doctor is his parents friend. He actually respect and admire this doctor a lot and hoping someday he will become a good doctor like her.

The doctor is a woman in her early forties that had tasted the world of medical--bitterness and sweetness--more extreme. Why is it extreme, because she is a Chinese. The Chinese tribe was treated unfair in the 80s to 90s.

One day the doctor give a task to this young man, because the young man said that he admire her and want to learn from her about the medical world. The task is very simple, she say "I want you take care of this plant and tell me the progress after 10 days."

The young man is surprise with the task and he rejected the task from the doctor.

Then the doctor force him to accept and say "this plant is sick, and it is a patient too. You shouldn't be choosy".

With an unwilling heart, the young man accepted the task.

However, the young man, start taking things for granted because he thinks "it is only a plant, if it's dead, I will replace with a new one". So he waters it when he feels like watering. He let the insects make a nest in the plant.

After 10 days the plant dies and the young man never contact the doctor anymore. What happen next is the trust between the young man and the doctor broken.

------

This story is an analogy for what's really happening in the circle of my life. Trust is a very, very fragile thing. It starts from one small request. Those small request is what build a trust.
Don't break someone's trust if you are not ready with the consequences.

And if you really did break someone's trust especially those who had helped you a lot, never lose hope. They maybe feel lots of negativity towards you, and its okay. Just do what's right and do it by action.
