When You Say You Know But Actually You Dont

Lie or liar

A word that used to describe people being untruthful. A strong word that can hurt someone feeling. 

Sometimes I asked myself, "is it hard to be honest?"

A friend of mine told me that when she tells the truth, she looks dumb and she think people might think she is dumb. But honestly, is good to be honest, and she doesn't look dumb by telling the truth. At least, you are telling the truth to yourself, although if people don't believe it, it's okay.

For the past few years, I had been observing this particular person in sharing his knowledge and skill. But I can tell you, as a human we all have limitation, and it is applicable to our knowledge as well. 

Perhaps you are good and knowledgeable in IT, and others are good at photography, or mechanic. A lot other different things, but we have limitation, we don't know everything. 

This particular person, it will hurt his pride if he say the truth that he doesn't know, so eventually he will say "Yes, I know" but actually he doesn't know. I don't know why he doesn't want to tell the truth. When he said that he know, there is a hint of uncertain in his face expression. And when someone ask him further question, he is at the checkmate point. Dead road, I can say.

To be honest, it makes him looks silly. 

Still, it is better to tell the truth that "I don't know", rather than saying empty words that "I know" just for the sake of not hurting your pride. If you really don't know, say it honestly.
